Happy {Girls} Weekend! (And An Announcement!)

I am one lucky girl because this lady is coming to visit this weekend ...

Josh hopped on a flight at 6 am to head to Nashville for a bachelor party weekend (not his bachelor party, but his friend's) and around 7 pm tonight, I'll be picking my mom up from the airport for a fun GIRLS ONLY weekend!

There will be sushi and wine and wedding planning and Kennedy obsession and brunch. There will be grandpuppy love and long talks and giggling. There will also be shopping (and maybe my awesome mom helping me pick out - and generously paying for - some awesome back to school clothes!) and lots of relaxing.

Oh! And, we'll be celebrating. Celebrating what, you may ask? Celebrating that as of September, I will be in my very own classroom beginning my very first teaching job.

Let's pause a moment while I scream and shout and jump for joy. HURRAY!!!!

From September through Thanksgiving, I'll be in charge of my own classroom in an amazing district only about twenty minutes away from where we live now. I will be teaching 2 classes of world history and 2 classes of US history 1 - and I. COULD. NOT. BE. MORE. EXCITED. It isn't a full-year position - I will be a permanent substitute for a teacher on maternity leave - but this opportunity has the ability to open so many doors and it is a wonderful place to begin what I hope will be a long and meaningful teaching career.

Needless to say, this has been an excellent week and I am so excited to finally share this news with you! I'll keep you updated over the next month as I prepare to enter the classroom, go through new teacher orientation, and start the school year. And, for now, I can't wait to celebrate this fantastic milestone with my mom on our girls weekend!

I hope you had a wonderful week and that you're planning on having a wonderful weekend too!
