DIY: Business Card Storage {Office Update}

Some of you may remember, last year I created storage for our sunglasses, inspired by Emily at Cupcakes and Cashmere. Well, when we moved this year, we didn't really have a place for it anymore. And so, I decided to dig it out of the pile of things I need to do something with, and turned it into something more useful - business card storage.

I started last year with just the frame, some picture wire, and the small eyeholes to secure the picture wire. For the sunglasses, I only had 2 rows of wire, and so to make this, I added 2 more rows of wire to my frame.

Then, I had a pack of clothespins lying around (I'm not even kidding, they were just tucked into my craft closet), and I used them to hang up business cards that I've kept in a pile on my desk for so long.

With such an easy update - now I can finally see some of my favorite bloggers' business cards.

At some point, I might update the clothespins a bit, but until then - I'm liking them like this. And, here are a couple of shots of my desk and work area - one without all of the mess...

... and one of my desk in its typical state.

You can see an unblogged about project - the bright yellow frame - and some of my old favorites - my map coasters and nailhead trim corkboard. You might also notice a few other projects in the work lurking around - and that's what I love about this desk - it gives me room to create and store and build on so many ideas. And I'm so glad to have put this new piece of business card organization together to keep my desk even more organized!

I will be back this afternoon with a fun update on how I'm doing with Project Life - my favorite things about the project and some of my favorite pages so far!

  1. Your desk is adorable! Love the 2 Sisters 2 Cities business card :) The fabric-colored pinboard is great!

    My husband and I share an office in our house, but I never use it since it mostly has his stuff. I want to get the white Parsons desk from West Elm and have just my stuff at it and a place to type up posts. I usually just have my laptop on our kitchen counter...thanks for the desk inspiration!
