Honey Pecan Pork Chops

Happy Wednesday! I'm sorry to say that there will be no Wedding Wednesday post today! Contracts are being finalized, engagement photos are being edited, and dresses are being dreamed about - but for this week there's nothing new to report! So, instead, I'll be sharing my new favorite recipe with you - honey pecan pork chops.

I absolutely love honey and I love pecans. I've toasted pecans drizzled with honey for salads before, and last week I thought - why not put the pecans on the main course instead of just in the salad? And this recipe was born. If pork chops aren't your jam, then this would definitely also work well with chicken - or for a healthier version with a mild white fish like tilapia or cod. All you need to make this are the following ingredients...

3-4 thin cut boneless pork chops
1/4 cup pecans
3 & 1/2 tbsp butter, separated
3 tbsp honey
flour for dredging
salt and pepper

First, sprinkle salt and pepper over the pork chops. Then, lightly dredge in the flour - shaking off any excess. Set aside.

Then, over medium-high heat in a skillet, melt 1 tbsp of butter. Saute the pork chops on both sides until they are a light brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the heat when done.

While the pork chops are sauteing, chop your pecans.

After removing the pork chops from the pan, place the remaining 2 and a half tbsp of butter into the pan. As it begins to melt, add your chopped pecans and honey. As it sautes, it will turn a beautiful golden brown color.

Mix together until the butter has fully melted. Then, add the pork chops back into the pan and saute for one minute on each side.

Remove and serve with rice or salad - and make sure to heap some of the honey pecan mixture on top of the pork chop for extra awesomeness. I served it with a delicious garlic butter rice that was a perfect complement to the sweetness of the honey pecans.

Do you love pecans as much as I do? Do you crave pecan pie and love the sweetness of a honey roasted pecan? If so, then this dish is definitely for you!
