Happy July! {Weekend Recap}

Happy July! Did you all have a wonderful end to the month of June? I know I did! I finished (and turned in!) my final grad school assignments, and although graduation isn't until the fall, it feels truly incredible to have finished the program and be only a few small steps away being completely certified to have my own classroom!

After turning in my last assignment on Friday afternoon, Josh and I spent the weekend catching up on tv, relaxing, and enjoying spending time with each other. On Saturday, we ran some errands, finished registering, and celebrated our -1 year anniversary in Boston. On Sunday, I went grocery shopping, filled the house with fresh flowers, worked on some projects (finally!!), cooked up a storm, and took care of a few spots that needed some serious organization. Tomorrow I'll be sharing a delicious recipe for pesto, and next week I'll be showing you our finished balcony - complete with chalkboard project!
Also, in an effort to save some money (approximately $120) and eat healthier, I am giving up Dunkin' Donuts for the month of July. Every morning, I typically stop for an iced coffee and egg-white flatbread with turkey sausage. While on the calorie end of things, this isn't too unhealthy (coming in at around 400 calories or so for the sandwich and the coffee), sometimes I get a bagel instead. And every morning, this costs about $6 - which comes to $30/week or $120/month. And let's get real - it's just silly to be spending that when I can bring cereal from home and drink (free) coffee at work for a fraction of the cost. So, I'm challenging myself this month to go 31 days without Dunkin' Donuts. I'll check back here on this personal challenge at the end of the month, and I'll be tweeting and instagramming about it over the next 31 days. And of course, if you'd like to join me in this challenge - I'd love to know I wasn't the only one who struggles with this!

I am so excited for July and all of the exciting things I know it has in store. From a short week this week, to a weekend in Fire Island in 2 weeks, to fresh food on the grill and dinners on our balcony - I am loving everything that July is promising. I hope you had a great weekend, and that you're looking forward to July as much as I am! Rabbit, rabbit!

  1. Good luck with not eating Dunkin! They are soooo good, but $120 does sound better.
