Recipe: (Birthday) Oreo Bark

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! Today, August 28th, is my little brother's birthday! He's turning the big 2-2 *Correction* the big 2-3 today (I really just don't want to think about what that means for my own age!), and even though I can't be there to celebrate with him (not that he wants his annoying older sister to be there anyway), this weekend I made something delicious in his honor - Oreo Bark. And the best part about this recipe is that it's easy enough for him to make it himself!

All you need to make this are two ingredients: oreos and white chocolate chips.

1 Bag Tollhouse or Ghiradelli White Chocolate Chips
12 Double Stuffed Oreos, plus 3 more for topping

First, line a square baking pan with wax or parchment paper.

Then, plus the 12 oreos into a bowl, and crush them using a wooden spoon - leaving big chunks is totally okay.

Then, melt your white chocolate (I used a makeshift double boiler, but the microwave in small increments would work well too) and add it to the crushed oreos.

Once it's all mixed together, spread evenly into your pan.

Crush the remaining 3 oreos, and sprinkle the crumbs over the top of the pan. Place this into the fridge to chill for 20 minutes. Once chilled, remove and lift from the pan.

Finally, break into pieces and enjoy with a tall glass of milk!

I got the original recipe from here (pinned ages ago) and decided this would be the perfect occassion to make it! And Josh and I love oreos, so it is also a perfect snack for us to share!

Jonathan, I hope you have a wonderful birthday and that your twenty-third year is everthing that you hope for and more! I love you!
