Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Can I confess something to all of you, my lovely readers? I've been a bad blogger the past couple of days. I had two days off from work due to Hurricane Sandy, and instead of using it to bake a lot, or finish a ton of projects, or do any other assortment of things that needed to be done - instead of doing all of those things, I slept instead. I slept in, I napped, I went to bed early - it was as though a sleep monster took over and inhabited my body for the past couple of days. And so, with that in mind, and knowing that so many of my readers have been affected by Hurricane Sandy, I will be pushing back my usual end of the month features - READ THIS! and Instalife - for a few more days.

On a more personal note, as a Jersey girl (albeit one transplanted to the Boston 'burbs), my heart goes out to all of my family and friends who are dealing with the aftermath of this terrible storm. For those of you whom I've been able to speak with, I am glad that you are safe, if without power, and for those that I have been unable to speak with, I hope that you are staying safe and warm, and out of harm's way.

I hope you all have a happy Halloween and that you stay safe and that, for those of you with children of the trick-or-treating age, you get lots of good candy to "borrow" from your kids! See you back here tomorrow for the start of November and a delicious new Fall scone recipe!

Battening Down the Hatches

Battening Down the Hatches

Hello from the northern part of Hurricane Sandy! My office is closed for the day and Josh is working from home, making this the perfect day to cuddle up on the couch, watch some DVR'd television (Homeland, anyone?) and just sit out the storm.

I hope that if you're on the East Coast, you are staying safe and not venturing out in this storm! And for those of you not in the storm's path, I hope that any family you have in the mid-Atlantic area is staying safe from harm.

Have a good day, and please, stay safe inside. I'll be back tomorrow with a fun "pinspired" craft!
