Rent the Runway {Wedding Wednesday}

Over the long Memorial Day Weekend, Josh and I sent Nash to a puppy spa for the weekend, while we headed down to Long Island to celebrate my cousin's wedding. For those of you who don't know this about me, I love spending time with my cousins. Most of them live far away (like in Canada) and so I don't get to see them as often as I like. In fact, this wedding marked the first time I'd seen most of them in over 5 years. And so, of course, I cherished every single second I got to spend with them.

The wedding, on Sunday evening, was a beautiful black tie affair - certainly a night to remember! I wanted to wear a long gown, but didn't want to shell out the extra money for it, so I decided to Rent the Runway.
Never heard of Rent the Runway? Its a dress renting company that allows the average gal to wear designer dresses (and accessories!) for a fraction of the cost of a designer dress. I'd never used it before this weekend, but decided I would give it a try. With each dress you rent you get 2 sizes, and you can get a second dress for only $25 more. Obviously, I also got a second dress.
I ended up wearing the black dress because the zipper on it was super beyond hard to deal with, and once it went on - needing the help of two people (Josh and my Aunt) - even though I sort of decided I'd rather wear the green, I was out of luck. And so, the black it was!

My experience with Rent the Runway was wonderful, but I have to tell you, my experience with the dress itself was not. I knew it would be long, the reviews of the dress said so, but in 4 inch heels, the dress was still practically getting stepped on all night long. I could pull it up a bit, since the top was really too big, but it was definitely an annoyance. And, because the top was big, it didn't make me look as skinny as I had hoped it would!

In spite of this, I got a ton of compliments on the dress, and it was super pretty. And then the send back was so easy! All I had to do was stick the dresses in the envelopes provided and drop them at a UPS pick-up location. Which for me was my office so I just brought the bags with me Tuesday morning and dropped them off then. Amazing. I will definitely be renting from Rent the Runway again - next time I'll stick with something that isn't too long for my very short body!

Have you ever used Rent the Runway? Loved it? Hated it? I'm dying to hear all about it!
